She was targeted because of her active involvement in the struggle for womens rights and a socialist society. The attack happened after protest against reactionary religious extremist violence. It is no coincidence that gangs reacted by attacking a female worker. We stand in solidarity with Shabana Marri and all the activists of the Workers Alliance Sindh. It seems that they can not count on the police to act against the extremists and their violence. They can only rely on their own forces and the strength of international solidarity.
